Producer comment: “Even in this economy, when people have limited [their] spending to essentials, we had an increase in sponsorships,” said Henry Dicker, VP-executive director of LegalTech.
Exhibitor comment: “We expected to generate excitement and collect some leads, but we also made some sales at the show,” said Kathleen Granger, director of exhibition marketing for the legal division of Thomson Reuters. “Last year was a tough year for that meeting, but this year it seemed to be back up. We also had more qualified people come by the booth.”
Breakdown: LegalTech New York saw attendance rise 3% this year, a welcome rebound after the event posted its first-ever decline in that statistic last year. “We have a very definitive strategy that we put into place when we saw the attendance trending down,” Dicker said. The company almost tripled the show's educational offerings, adding such elements as a track focused on emerging technology. The show saw an increase in sponsorship revenue and new-product launches, including Thomson Reuters' WestlawNext. —C.W.
