We're seeing growth on the corporate side, where more companies are looking to extend their face-to-face events.” Exhibitor comment: “More people attended, but the true growth comes in the acceptance of these technologies,” said James Parker, president at virtual technology provider Digitell Inc. “The first two years, I saw independent meeting planners who saw it as a threat. This year, there was none of that.” Breakdown: The summit focuses on education, providing not only 37 in-person sessions but also an opportunity to see firsthand how virtual environments can complement face-to-face events. Eight different companies offered a live stream of content, showcasing their technology and giving online registrants access to the event. The show was collocated with the Professional Convention Management Association Annual Meeting. —C.W.
