Producer comment: "DigitalLife puts the focus on the product and the experience rather than the exhibitry," said Monica Vila, VP-event marketing at Ziff Davis. "We feel we broke ground with our model of focusing on an important time of the year for marketing and bringing together press, trade and consumers."
Exhibitor comment: "It's been growing, and it's been getting a lot of press throughout the year," said Winnie Wong, associate director of marketing communications at Alienware Corp., a PC manufacturer. "It was a chance for Alienware to be out there at an event. It's small enough where we'll get a lot of traffic. We won't be overshadowed by larger companies."
Breakdown: DigitalLife has shown progressive growth each year since its launch, and gaming now represents more than 30% of the show. Part of that success stems from an approach that curbs the pageantry seen at events such as E3, Vila said. "There was a race for more elaborate exhibitry," she said. "As a media company producing live marketing, we never like to see that. The holy grail is ROI." ?Charlotte Woolard
