New York--The Silicon Alley Reporter, which chronicled new media in New York, has run its last issue, its publisher, Jason McCabe Calacanis, said late last week. The magazine, which launched in 1996, fell victim to the consolidation and decline among Internet companies, and a subsequent lack of advertising. Calacanis said he would continue to publish two online newsletters, "SiliconAlleyDaily.com" and "DigitalCoastReporter.com," in addition to one about venture capital. Calacanis said he also plans to begin publishing a magazine about venture capital investment, called Venture Reporter, beginning in December, reportedly using a $2 million line of credit.
