Silverpop targets marketers with Facebook sweepstakes

Atlanta—Email and marketing automation company Silverpop has launched a Facebook sweepstakes campaign, with prizes offered to marketers for “liking” the company.

The promotion, which runs through January, will randomly award one new fan each week with a $100 American Express gift card, with a final prize of a MacBook Air laptop computer at the end of the campaign.

To encourage entries, which require “likes,” Silverpop will donate $1 for each new fan, up to $5,000, to charity: water, a nonprofit group that helps bring clean drinking water to developing nations.
