Simmons-Boardman Publishing acquires Davison Publishing

New York—In a merger of two of the nation’s oldest business publishers, the Simmons-Boardman Publishing Corp. said Monday that is has acquired the assets of Davison Publishing Co. Financial terms were not disclosed. Davison, which will continue to be based in Orlando, Fla., produces seven annual directories serving the textile, fence, commercial marine, tile, and corrugated box and folding carton industries.  They are: Textile Blue Book, Marine Alaska West Coast Yellow Pages, Marine Atlantic Yellow Pages, Marine Gulf States Yellow Pages, Tile & Stone Blue Book, Box & Carton Blue Book and Fence Blue Book. Simmons-Boardman publishes seven trade magazines, including Railway Age, Railway Track & Structures and Marine Log. Both publishers trace their roots to the second half of the 19th century.
