Slide in tech ad pages continues

Manhasset, N.Y.--CMP Media said Friday that technology ad pages decreased 13.7% in 2003 compared with 2002 and that ad pages in its own tech publications fell 8.8% over the same period, according to data supplied by IMS: The Auditor.

CMP Media’s channel publications saw gains for the year: VAR Business was up 6.1% in ad pages in 2003 and CRN was up 4%.

Network Computing also saw an 11.4% gain, but InformationWeek (-5%) and EE Times (-16.4%) posted declines. EBN, which CMP Media has shuttered, saw a decline of 31.7% in ad pages between 2002 and 2003.
