Some small-business sectors represent marketing opportunity

New York—Jupiter Research, a division of Jupitermedia Corp., on Tuesday released a report that showed that while technology spending by small businesses is expected to be flat in 2005, some subsegments are planning to boost their spending.

Fifty-two percent of businesses with fewer than 50 employees will spend between $5,000 and $24,999 on technology this year, and 13% will spend between $25,000 and $49,999.

In addition, 67% of companies with four or fewer employees are expected to spend up to $5,000 on technology this year.
