Southwest enters partnerships with NBA, WNBA

Dallas--Southwest Airlines, one of the few airlines to continue aggressive marketing spending in the current industry downturn, announced it has entered into partnerships with the National Basketball Association and the Women's National Basketball Association, making Southwest the official airline of the NBA and WNBA.

The airline plans to debut NBA-theme TV spots for the 2003 NBA Playoffs that will appear during NBA games and original programming on ABC, TNT, ESPN and NBA TV.

Southwest also plans to advertise during WNBA games on ABC, ESPN2, Oxygen and NBA TV.
