New York—Jay Spaleta has been named to the newly created position of publisher of fashion-trade bible WWD. Spaleta, who will remain publisher of FN, takes on the additional role immediately. Both publications are part of the Fairchild Fashion Group, which is a subsidiary of Condé Nast Publications. Spaleta, who has been publisher of FN since 2004, joined Condé Nast in 1997 as an ad executive at Vanity Fair. In 2000, he was named eastern ad director of Details.
