St. Paul, Minn.-Supply chain specialist SPS Commerce Inc. said Monday that it has won W.W. Grainger Inc. as a customer for its electronic commerce transaction system. The deal means SPS will handle ordering and billing for about 1,000 small and midsize businesses that use Grainger's SupplierConnect system for buying products. The value of the deal was not disclosed, but the win could prove a showcase for SPS because Chicago-based Grainger, an industrial supply company with $5 billion in annual revenue, is one of the most advanced b-to-b companies on the Internet.
