Standard Media appoints new ad sales director for West Coast

San Francisco--Standard Media International, which publishes The Industry Standard, on Tuesday appointed Jonathan Schwartz as VP-associate group publisher for the West Coast. Schwartz will be responsible for driving ad sales across all media, including print, online and events. Prior to joining Standard, Schwartz was VP-sales for HVC Technologies and also held several sales positions at Ziff Davis Media, including West Coast ad director for Smart Business. Ad pages in the first half of the year for The Industry Standard, which is currently being shopped around, fell 80% compared with the same period last year, to 141 from 711.
