Staples' Web division launches marketing solutions site

Framingham, Mass.--Staples Inc. Internet unit Staples.com has launched the Marketing Center, a site aimed at aiding small businesses in developing their direct marketing and selling initiatives. The site allows for on-screen development of everything from direct mail pieces to greeting cards; an interactive portion also allows for users to query Staples.com's sales and marketing executives for marketing advice. The move comes as Staples' larger archrival, Office Depot Inc., is aggressively developing its own b-to-b initiatives, including a recent marketing agreement with ChurchPlaza.com.
