StrongMail acquires digital agencies, forms social mashup unit

By Published on .

Redwood City, Calif.—E-mail and social media marketing company StrongMail Systems has acquired two New York-based interactive marketing agencies, rolling them up into a new in-house division that melds e-mail, social marketing and customer-relationship management.

StrongMail’s acquisitions, Conversa Marketing and Magnetik, offer e-mail, social media marketing and listening, Web design and CRM. The acquisitions will be merged into StrongMail’s existing strategic services team to form a new e-mail/social CRM agency called ThreadMarketing, to be based in New York.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Last year, StrongMail acquired social media company PopularMedia, allowing it to track and measure the viral nature of e-mail and social networks by response rates.
