New York--E-mail marketing expenditures will grow at a 41% annual rate, reaching $3.5 billion in 2005, according to a study by Winterberry Group. The study found that e-mail marketing, a $910 million business this year, will grow significantly as direct marketers recognize the cost-effectiveness of permission-based e-mail. Other factors propelling industry growth are e-mail company mergers and the development of customer relationship management technologies.
