Study: Exhibitions continue to show positive trends

Published on .

Dallas—The trade show and exhibitions industry continues to show strong growth, with 12 consecutive quarters of year-over-year performance increases, according to a new study by the Center for Exhibition Industry Research. According to the CEIR Index report for the second quarter, the strongest metric was professional events attendance, which increased 3.9% over the same period last year, the biggest gain since the first quarter of 2012. Event revenue showed a slight increase as well, up 1.4%, while net square feet was flat. The only negative metric was the number of exhibitors, which declined by 0.5%. The most robust events growth was seen in the professional business services, raw materials and science, and food sectors, CEIR said.
