Burlingame, Calif.—Google and Yahoo! are diverting "significant ad revenues" from major newspapers and magazines and "trouncing their business models," according to a new study released Tuesday by Outsell, an information industry research firm. The study showed that Google and Yahoo! together generated $4 billion in new revenue in 2004, which was as much new revenue as the 10 largest companies on the Outsell 100 Company Monitor combined.
