Study finds nearly half of 'Fortune' 500 companies don't translate content

Nicosia, Cyprus—Nearly half (48%) of Fortune 500 companies do not translate online content, according to a new study by One Hour Translation, a global translation service. The study was based on an analysis of online content from Fortune 500 companies. Of the companies that do not translate content, 41% are b-to-b, according to the study. Some of categories in which companies do not translate online content include energy and utility (83%), retail (66%) and health are (65%). The criteria used to determine whether a website was localized or not was based on the availability of the site's content in at least one language other than English.
