Study finds trade shows on the rebound

Published on .

Chicago—The exhibition industry continues to rebound from its troubles earlier this decade, according to a report from the Center on Exhibition Industry Research.

Based on a 2000 index value of 100, net square footage improved from 102.3 in 2003 to 109.6 in 2004. Attendance was at 103.8 last year, compared with 97.1 in 2003.

Revenue has not fully recovered, according to CEIR, ending 2004 at 97.0. However, that is a 2.9 point improvement from 2003, the association said.
