New York—U.S. mobile ad expenditures will grow 47% next year, reaching $1.8 billion in 2012 and $4.4 billion by 2015, according to a new report from eMarketer.
According to the company's “Mobile Advertising and Marketing: Moving to the Mainstream” study, search and display are leading the mobile charge. Mobile search spending will grow 57% annually through 2015, hitting $1.8 billion. Banners and rich media will grow by 51% annually to $1.6 billion.
Mobile video ad expenditures are growing fastest from a low base, at 69% annually to an estimated $396 million by 2015.
