Study suggests publisher apps achieving strong engagement with readers

Cambridge, Mass.—Sixty-four percent of iPad and iPhone app users return to publisher apps after their initial visit, according to a study conducted by digital publishing company YUDU Media. The study is based on analysis of 80 branded reader apps YUDU has developed for its customers, which include Readers' Digest UK, The College Journal and Runway Magazine. The study also found that almost 40% of people who download reader apps opt-in to share their contact information with publishers. Additionally, 33.7% of overall reader app downloads are software updates, suggesting a high level of engagement, YUDU Media said.
