New York—Tablet users spend 30% more time on websites and have a 20% higher average engagement score than PC users, according to ad management technology company IgnitionOne Inc. The company's “Online Advertising Report Q3 2012” also found that U.S. mobile and tablet search grew to 16.3% of total search spending budgets in the third quarter, up from 14% in the previous quarter. Compared with the third quarter of 2011, mobile and tablet search spending increased 167.5%. IgnitionOne's study was based on an analysis of more than 91 billion impressions and 2.3 billion clicks on Google and Yahoo/Bing search networks, Google's DoubleClick Ad Exchange and other display networks in the third quarter of this year.
