AdvisorOne.com will include content from Summit Business Media’s Investment Advisory Group, including Investment Advisor and Research. The site will also include content aggregated from third-party sources such as AP Financial Wire, Barron’s, Bloomberg, Business Week, Lexis Nexis, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Additionally, the site will have more than 70 bloggers providing content.
“Feedback from readers over the past two years—RIAs, independent broker/dealer reps, and wirehouse brokers—led us to conduct a research study of advisers about their media consumption habits,” John Whelan, exec VP at Summit Business Media, said in a statement. “As a result of the study, we found 92% of advisers said there was no single website available to meet all of their information needs, and most wanted a single site for news, analysis and market data.”
In an interview, Whelan said that marketers including Barclays [Bank], Charles Schwab [Corp.], and Fidelity [Investments] have already signed on to advertise on the site. He addecdthat Summit Business Media plans to launch similar broad-based sites in its other coverage areas, such as property and casualty insurance.
