New York—Summit Business Media announced a new company name, Summit Professional Networks, along with a new organizational structure centered around its three professional markets—insurance, financial and legal.
Summit's media properties; reference publishing; training and continuing education; data products; and events will be integrated within each “network” into what the company called “a branded ecosystem of content and solutions aligned to each community's needs.” Previously, like many traditional business media companies, Summit was largely organized around distribution channels such as magazines, websites and data products.
“With the new corporate brand, we have a name that better evokes our renewed mission to support both the personal and professional ambitions of our individual network members, as well as the growth and vitality of the industries themselves,” said Steve Weitzner, Summit Professional Networks CEO, in a statement.
The Insurance Network comprises Summit's life/health and property/casualty insurance properties as well as its benefits group. The Financial Network includes the ThinkAdvisor Financial Network and properties in the credit union and mining investment areas. The Legal Network consists of InsideCounsel and its events and awards program.
Along with the new name, Summit unveiled a new logo and URL (www.summitprofessionalnetworks.com).
