Survey: b-to-b e-commerce growth stalling

Published on .

Bellevue, Wash.-A new survey released Monday shows that b-to-b companies are having a difficult time growing their e-commerce. The survey, conducted by Edifecs, which provides b-to-b technology solutions, found the biggest barrier to embracing b-to-b e-commerce is "enablement", or the process of preparing a company, its internal systems and its trading partners to start conducting transactions over all of its trading networks. The report was based on data from nearly 400 e-commerce managers from a cross-section of companies. The survey found it takes an average of 3 months to ramp just one electronic process with a single trading partner.
