New York—Eighty percent of U.S. companies have a presence on Facebook and 48% have a LinkedIn presence, according to a survey by InSites Consulting. Also, 45% of U.S. companies have a presence on Twitter and 31% use YouTube, according to the survey.
The study, “The 4 C's of the Conversation Company,” was based on an online survey of more than 1,200 business executives at companies in the U.S and Europe.
It found that 83% of respondents at U.S. companies answered questions or complaints sent to them via social media channels, although only 54% actively took place on conversations on social media.
Only 11% of companies responding were integrating their social media approach into overall corporate strategy, while 17% were in the “midintegration” stage.
