Survey finds consumers open to app advertising and location-based mobile ads

San Francisco—A survey of wi-fi users released Wednesday found that 52% acted on an advertisement in an app and 18% made a purchase from an ad in an app in the past 30 days.

The survey was conducted by JiWire, a company that serves ads to more than 30,000 public wi-fi locations. The survey, which was JiWire's latest "Mobile Audience Insights Report,” queried 2,030 customers in March and April.

Eighty-four percent of survey respondents said they would be just as likely or more likely to engage with an ad relevant to their current location, and 53% said they are willing to share their current location to receive more relevant advertising.
