Tablet owners spend more time online

New York—Owners of tablet computers spend 48% more time online than the population as a whole, according to a new study by online research company Knowledge Networks. According to the company's newest MultiMedia Mentor report, tablet users spend 4 hours, 19 minutes each day on the Internet, compared with 2 hours, 55 minutes for all others. In addition, tablet ownership is a marker for other tech characteristics: 92% of tablet owners also have a smartphone, according to the report. The Knowledge Networks report was based on about 5,000 interviews annually with members of the company's KnowledgePanel about their use of media.
