Tech ad pages continue to slump

Manhasset, N.Y.--United Business Media’s CMP Media reported that ad pages for tech publications overall declined 5.9% in April, compared with April 2003, according to data supplied by IMS: the Auditor.

Ad pages for CMP's own continuing tech publications fell 3.0%.

CMP said its market share improved to 28.2% in April, compared with 27.3% in April 2003.

CMP publications losing ad pages in April included InformationWeek (-1.7%) and EE Times (1.5%). Gainers included Network Computing (14.3%) and CRN (6.5%).
