Tech ad pages down in Q1

Manhasset, N.Y.—United Business Media’s CMP Media Thursday reported that tech ad pages decreased 5.6% industrywide in the first quarter. CMP said its continuing titles recorded a 4.2% decrease in tech ad pages in the same time frame. Every major CMP title showed an ad page decline in the first quarter, with InformationWeek posting the largest drop at 17.9%. CMP said this would be the last issuance of its ad page statistics because they have "become of such diminished relevance for UBM’s overall performance."
