San Francisco—United Business Media’s TechInsights Tuesday announced the creation of TechInsights Services, Data and Market Intelligence, a separate business unit that will provide technical and market intelligence data services, intellectual property life cycle consulting services and supporting proprietary software tools to the global electronics industry.

In addition, TechInsights announced it has acquired Sanguine Microelectronics to further expand the capabilities and the new unit, which also includes previous UBM acquisitions, Semiconductor Insights and Portelligent. Senior VP Harry Page will oversee the unit.

Sanguine, a 10-year-old Chinese company, provides technical analysis and data services, with a strong presence in Southeast Asia. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The creation of a TechInsights unit focusing on intellectual property professional services and technical and market intelligence data services, enabled by an incomparable suite of proprietary work flow collaboration software tools, not only presents a compelling value proposition to current and future clients of Portelligent, Sanguine and Semiconductor Insights, it also delivers a better, stronger more capable complement to the TechInsights Media and Marketing Services businesses,” Paul Miller, CEO of TechInsights, said in a statement.
