TechTarget buys 'Information Security'

Published on .

Needham, Mass.--Information technology media company TechTarget announced Tuesday that it has acquired Information Security from TruSecure, a security intelligence and services provider, which started the publication in 1997.

The monthly magazine is distributed to a controlled circulation of 67,500 IT security professionals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Information Security, which covers security technologies, practices and trends, will complement TechTarget’s SearchSecurity.com Web site and the Security Decisions conference, TechTarget CEO Greg Strakosch said.

The Web site, the conference and the newly acquired magazine will form TechTarget’s new Security Media Group.

Advertising revenue for Information Security is up about 25% so far this year, according to TechTarget, which said it expects to double the magazine’s revenue next year.
