TechTarget starts conference division

Published on .

Needham, Mass.--Bucking the recession and the technology conference fallout, TechTarget announced it is forming a new division to support, market and run its specialized IT market conferences.TechTarget Conference Division will be headed by Ken Berquist, formerly VP-business development. The division will support TechTarget's invitation-only tech conferences, which next year will focus on topics including storage management, Windows, security, storage and SearchSAP.com. TechTarget's conferences provide free admission to delegates but require that they have purchase authority and oversight of budget management. The announcement comes as TechTarget continues to take an aggressive marketing approach despite the down economy. Next March, it will launch Storage, a 50,000-circulation monthly meant to give storage executives news and analysis on managing, storing, networking and safeguarding data.
