Thomson Reuters halts effort to sell healthcare unit

Published on .

New York—Thomson Reuters has suspended its efforts to sell its healthcare business. The company originally announced its intention to divest the business in June.

In a press release, Thomson Reuters said, “Global economic conditions have become more challenging and the company believes they are not conducive to concluding a transaction that reflects the fair value of the healthcare business at this time.”

The company said the healthcare business continues to post increasing revenue. In Thomson Reuters' financial statements, the healthcare business will continue to be included under the heading “other businesses.”
