Top achievements of 2008: Weller founded the precursor to Incisive, called City Financial Communications, in 1994, and the company took the Incisive Media name in 2000. In December 2006, private equity firm Apax Summer purchased Incisive and helped fund its 2007 acquisitions of two U.K.-based business publishers— VNU Business Publications. and Central Banking Publications—as well as New York-based ALM. Our main focus in 2008 has been the integration of these businesses," Weller said. We've made great progress in the ALM integration, including its rebranding as Incisive Media this summer. In tandem with the brand transition, our New York employees, formerly based in five separate locations, completed their move into two new consolidated offices."
Top priorities for 2009: Like many other top media executives, Weller is approaching 2009 with some caution. Our goal is to ensure that our business is organized for success and that we have the right cost base for the current economic backdrop," he said. This includes building better ways to share best practices across markets and geographies to capture available synergies. We're also looking to improve penetration of our brands in new geographies."
