Time Warner names Ripp CEO of Time Inc.

Published on .

New York—Time Warner has named Joseph A. Ripp CEO of Time Inc. Ripp, who is CEO of OneSource Information Services and a former Time Inc. executive, will take over in September as the company prepares for its separation from parent Time Warner as a publicly traded company. The spinoff, announced in March, is expected to be completed by the end of 2013. Ripp will succeed CEO Laura Lang, who previously expressed her intention to step down once a successor was found. Ripp was employed by Time and Time Warner for almost 20 years, from 1985 until he left in 2004 after holding the position of vice chairman of America Online, then a Time Warner division.
