Conshohocken, Pa.--Extending the use of streaming media for e-mail marketing purposes, TMXinteractive Tuesday launched services for producing and delivering audio and video-enabled press releases. TMXinteractive is the latest in a growing wave of vendors of multimedia e-mail solutions, typically called rich media. The firm also offers e-mail advertisements. In one of the latest examples of rich-media e-mail, inChorus.com, Santa Clara, Calif., sent out 37,000 e-mails for the charity Unicef. The novelty of the advertisements -- featuring a slideshow and narration -- generated higher response rates than a static e-mail campaign, inChorus said. About 26% of recipients viewed the message, and greater than 41% of the viewers clicked through to Unicef's goal destination, inChorus said. TMXinteractive claims its rich-media e-mail service, dubbed X-Mail, can deliver response rates five to 25 times greater than a static campaign.
