Tool helps gauge e-commerce readiness

Published on .

Washington, D.C. -- The Computer Systems Policy Project--a coalition that includes IBM Chairman-CEO Louis Gerstner Jr.; Hewlett-Packard Co. Chairman, President and CEO Lewis E. Platt; and 10 other IT company CEOs--introduced Tuesday an interactive tool designed to help businesses and communities determine their level of readiness for e-commerce. Called the Guide to Global Electronic Commerce, the tool can be found at www.cspp.org. The guide describes four stages of readiness for global e-commerce and offers public policy suggestions that will forward the CSPP's agenda of fostering the widespread adoption of e-commerce.
