Ad pages in the trade press rose in December, according to recently released Business Information Network figures. December 1999 ad pages reached 59,780.8, compared with December 1998's total of 56,716.7, a 5.4% increase. The finance, business and advertising category led the charge with 10,104.6 pages, up 30.2% from 7,761.5 pages. For the year, ad pages fell 3.9%, from 821,512.4 to 789,659. The computer category was responsible for much of the decline. Pages in 1999 totaled 40,772.3, down 23.9% from 53,598.6 in 1998.
