Trade publications post ad page gain

Trade publication advertising pages increased slightly in the first quarter to 209,516.9, a boost of 1.37% over the same period last year, according to Business Information Network figures compiled by Competitive Media Reporting for American Business Media. The growth was led by the finance, business and advertising category, which reached 33,547.3 pages for the quarter, an increase of 26.75% over the same period last year. Computer advertising continued its decline, falling to 7,082.2 pages in the first quarter, a 35.32% drop from the first quarter of 1999.
