New York—Social networking company Tumblr Inc. has introduced a mobile ad unit that allows advertisers to run messages that appear within Tumblr's stream of top-trending posts.
Tumblr's Sponsored Trending Blog ad unit will be distinguished from organic trending posts with a dollar-sign icon. Clicks on the post will lead to the advertiser's own Tumblr blog.
Tumblr, which was acquired
by Yahoo Inc. in May, has now introduced five different ad units, two of which are intended for mobile campaigns.
