Twitter cuts off syncing with LinkedIn

Published on .

San Francisco—Twitter will no longer allow users to share their tweets on their LinkedIn pages, although LinkedIn users are still able to share LinkedIn status updates on Twitter. (The companies had had a mutual syncing arrangement since 2009.) According to LinkedIn, if a user had previously synced LinkedIn and Twitter accounts—and selected the option to share tweets on LinkedIn—tweets generated from Twitter no longer will appear on LinkedIn pages. While Twitter did not comment specifically on the change, the company said on a blog post that it increasingly is focused on “providing the core Twitter consumption experience through a consistent set of products and tools.”
