Twitter introduces Targeted Tweets for advertisers

Published on .

San Francisco—Twitter has rolled out a new advertising tool that will let companies target their tweets to specific users. Targeted Tweets enable brands to reach specific audiences without first sending a tweet to all followers, the microblogging service said in a news release. For example, local brands that have different launch dates in different countries can send messages tailored to the users in each country at different times. Mobile app providers can use Targeted Tweets to reach customers on any one device. According to Twitter, advertisers can compose the tweets using the newly enhanced tweet box in ads.twitter.com. As with all Promoted Tweets, advertisers only pay when users engage.
