San Francisco—Twitter Inc. has launched a feature called custom timelines that provides more control over how tweets are organized and delivered.
Users can create the timelines and include certain tweets. When a conversation around an event or topic becomes popular, a custom timeline will highlight the most relevant tweets on that topic, Twitter said on its developers blog. Each timeline is public and has its own page on Twitter.com, enabling sharing; the custom timelines can also be embedded on websites, the company said.
Twitter users can create and share their custom timelines via TweetDeck, Twitter's tweet management dashboard. The service will be rolled out to all TweetDeck users over the next several days, the company said.
