Pasadena, Calif.—UberMedia, which has developed a number of applications for the management and tracking of Twitter accounts, has raised $17.5 million in a new round of financing.

According to CNET News, the company is putting its funds to immediate use in the imminent acquisition of Twitter management application TweetDeck, the biggest Twitter tool not owned by Twitter itself, for an estimated $30 million. Among the company's other products are UberTwitter for managing tweets on Blackberry devices, the Twitter client Echofon for computers and iPhone and the Android Twitter client Twidroyd.

The capital infusion was led by Accel Partners, with participation from existing partners Index Ventures and Revolution Ventures, owned by former AOL and Time Warner executive Steve Case.
