Published on .

London—United Business Media, parent of CMP Media, announced Tuesday that it has submitted a binding offer to acquire the medical trade press and other professional health care business information services in France currently owned by MediMedia. UBM said it would pay £36 million in cash (approximately $67.3 million) for the properties. The major brands involved in the deal are Le Quotidien du Médecin and Le Généraliste. These businesses would become part of CMPMedica France, which UBM acquired last year. In the U.S., CMP Media has been acquiring medical brands, such as Cliggott Publishing, to complement its technology publishing business. Additionally, CMP Healthcare Media on Monday published the first issue of Applied Neurology.
