UBM launches new business unit called DeusM, announces acquisition in Turkey

New York—United Business Media announced the debut of DeusM, a new integrated marketing services organization focused on business social media. DeusM’s service is based on Community in a Box, the structured system of Web publishing best practices UBM has used to create custom online communities such as the Internet Evolution site it developed for IBM Corp.

The CIAB system is built on the n-Server platform, which allows publishers to use text, audio and video to create communities for their customers. The platform also enables users in these communities to share content with Facebook LinkedIn and Twittter.

Stephen Saunders is the managing director of the new UBM unit.

Separately, UBM announced that it has agreed to acquire a 65% stake in Rotaforte International Trade Fairs & Media, the owner of the Istanbul Jewelry Show. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The announcement follows UBM’s pending $289 million acquisition of Canon Communications in the U.S.
