San Francisco—United Business Media announced that it has formed a new company, UBM Electronics, from the merger of UBM’s existing EE Times Group with EDN and other electronics-related properties it recently acquired through its purchase of Canon Communications.

UBM said more than 2.2 million electronics engineering professionals engage with the brands now combined under UBM Electronics. David Blaza, VP of UBM Electronics, will run the business unit. Ron Wall, senior VP, UBM Canon, will lead UBM Canon’s publishing group. Both Blaza and Wall will report to Paul Miller, CEO of UBM Electronics and UBM Canon publishing group.

Separately, UBM announced the launch of EE Times Confidential, a subscription-based online intelligence report for the global electronics industry. The monthly product will be available as a downloadable PDF. EE Times Confidential will increase its frequency to twice a month in the second half of next year.
