UBM reports increased revenue, profit

London—United Business Media reported that its group operating profit increased 24.8% in the first half to $149.3 million, compared with last year’s first half. Revenue increased 10.4% to $882.5 million.

The company said that profit at its four technology businesses, which include TechWeb and Everything Channel, increased 29% to $41.8 million.

“The reorganization of our technology business into four separate market-focused operations in early 2008 is proving successful, with aggregate revenue growth of 11.1% and margins exceeding 20%,” Davide Levin, UBM’s CEO, said in a statement.
