United Business Media consolidates health care operations; CMP Media changes name to CMP Technology

London—United Business Media said Wednesday that it plans to consolidate its health care activities worldwide into CMPMedica, its health care division. The company has appointed Henry Elkington to be CEO of the division, effective immediately.

In a related development, UBM subsidiary CMP Media will now focus exclusively on global IT markets and will transfer its U.S.-based medical publishing and continuing medical education business to CMPMedica. CMP Media’s exhibitions businesses in the beauty and cruise shipping markets will be transferred into UBM’s CMPI division. CMP Media will be renamed CMP Technology.
